Hey there!

Hi, I’m Kala—a UX designer with a background in graphic design. I studied at Oklahoma State University, where my passion for design led me to earn a BFA in Graphic Design.

I started my career in Dallas as a graphic designer in the commercial real estate industry, branding buildings across the central U.S. It wasn’t until a good friend introduced me to UX design that I found my true calling. Eager to dive in, I earned my UX Design certificate from SMU, seamlessly transitioning into the field by combining my love of design with my people-focused mindset.

Since then, I’ve worked in the aviation industry as a product designer, gaining hands-on experience with design systems, research methodologies, and accessibility design. Through my work, I’ve learned that great design becomes even stronger when guided by real customer data.

Outside of work, you’ll find me spending time with my husband and dog, exploring the outdoors on long walks. I also love getting lost in a great historical fiction novel and have recently started learning the joys (and challenges) of homeownership through DIY projects and gardening.
